While primarily now working as a psychotherapist, I have been a journalist for much longer having first worked in editorial in magazines (as editor, contributor, deputy and subeditor) and later writing for national newspapers and as a radio journalist for a period of over 30 years.
Since qualifying to work as a therapist around a dozen years ago, my journalism has been limited to writing and broadcasting pieces from overseas for Irish state broadcaster, RTE, for a show called World Report, which much resembles the BBC’s From Our Own Correspondent.
I’ve also written one non-fiction book, (Rum ‘n’ Coca: Cautionary Tales from Latin America), and in 2026 I’m completing my first novel based in the world of therapy, tentatively entitled The Lord of the Sighs.
Nonetheless, I’m interested in general editorial projects and would say my skillset is well-suited to creating and copy editing all manner of written material. Examples of work can be found on my personal website.
