Experiment with creative writing in a safe, supportive and fun environment, and, if you wish, share your writing with others. Led by a published author and experienced facilitator, these workshops are open to any level of ability and focus on different creative exercises each session.

Tutor: Rosanna Lowe is a writer, performer and director. Her theatre playwriting has included The Bacchae for the 2012 Cultural Olympiad, The Jungle Book (West Yorkshire Playhouse, Warwick Arts Centre, Northampton Royal and Oxford Playhouse), Madame Bovary (Northampton Royal and tour), Making The Sunlight (Queen Elizabeth Hall) and Chester Tuffnut (Polka Theatre). Her two ecological radio plays won the Radio 4 Young Sci Fi Writer and an IRDP Award. She has a keen interest in work for children and families and was part of the BAFTA award-winning writing team of TV comedy series Horrible Histories. She is particularly interested in creative work that deals with mythology and place and is currently working on Otherworld, a storytelling sound installation with Magik Door and on a travel book about Guatemala, where she lived during the Civil War. Her travel writing has won The Times Young Travel Writer’s Award and a Royal Geographical Society Award. She is one of the co-authors of both Brighton The Graphic Novel and the feature film London Unplugged. As a writing mentor, she has worked with a wide variety of people nationally and internationally, and is passionate about supporting all people to find their voice and means of expression. For 5 years she ran New Writing South’s Young Writer’s Squad and their Writing Ambassadors scheme, through which the young writers were heard on Radio 4, performed on the Southbank and presented their Young Writer’s Manifesto to the Houses of Parliament. She has worked on various life story projects, including working with Camino Seguro’s literacy group in Guatemala City’s municipal dump and with women, supported by Birth Companions, who had given birth while in Holloway Prison.
