Tim Barlow

I’m a Hastings-based poet and writer. I’m a committee member at Hastings Writers Group and the Hastings Book Festival Fringe, and I host the free ‘A Load of Poets’ monthly open mic night at 1200 Postcards on Queens Road (second Thursday of every month, 7:30pm). My poems and short stories have been published in various anthologies and my collection ‘Poems from the Edge of England’ is available on Amazon; a new edition will be published by Manchester’s Flapjack Press in 2026. I won the 2024 open mic competition at Hastings Book Festival and am the 2025 Writer of the Year at Hastings Writers Group. In 2024 and 2025 I supported Henry Normal on a poetry tour of all 17 public libraries in East Sussex.I have performed my poetry at over 100 live events. My work is an accessible, poignant, and funny take on contemporary themes – poetry so good you can understand it!
