Writer and performer Simeon Morris and his production company BeRuffled Productions are bringing their award-winning show Square Peg to Hastings Fringe for one night on Wednesday 25th June, following much critical acclaim and winning the Fringe First Award in 2023.

Based on Morris’ own experiences of growing up and discovering his identity, Square Peg takes a hilarious yet poignant look at modern masculinity, gender fluidity and the universal desire to be seen, understood and loved.

From Body Shop cucumber cleanser to satin gowns, from liquid eyeliner to the exquisite song of a blackbird, Square Peg weaves themes of abuse, loneliness, craftsmanship and belonging into an hour of stunning solo theatre – described by The Scotsman as “a frank and engaging piece”.

Morris, who as well as being an actor and director is an established costumier and leather worker – most recently working on Ridley Scott’s Gladiator II – seamlessly incorporates his passion for fashion design and sewing into the show, as well as his talent for physical drama, clowning and musical theatre.
